Selecting activity tags are one of the steps involved in creating an ATIS content item. In most cases, selecting the appropriate activity tag is straight-forward. However, in some circumstances, the activity definition is not readily apparent. The following activities are not consistently applied.
Wellness
A product or service that contributes to a person’s wellness and well-being, through physical or spiritual means, often in an idyllic setting. Wellness Product differs from beauty product in that the activities promote overall well-being as opposed to just surface treatments.
Canadian Culture
Promoting product or experiences that highlight the cultures of Canada with a particular focus on the area’s history and the first settler’s to Canada. This may include French and European cultures, Asian descendants and Indigenous peoples.
Western Culture
Also referred to as Cowboy culture, Western Culture refers to the lifestyle or behaviorisms most often attributed to the Cowboy way of life. Including ranching and horseback experiences.
Culinary
Activity or product where food is the focus of the activity. Activity that promotes unique and memorable eating experiences, often focusing on local ingredients prepared by noteworthy chefs.
Sightseeing Tours
Sightseeing is the activity of travelling around a city or region for the specific purpose of seeing the local sites. Sightseeing tours typically visit more than one location and include commentary about the sights visited. Sightseeing must be the focus of the activity, not a byproduct of the activity,
Unique Stays
Accommodations referred to as ‘Unique Stays’ are distinguished from other properties by offering characteristics that are a-typical of many stays. A property might be referred to as unique due to its unique setting (such as a cave, on a mountain-top, or in the middle of a field or farm), or because of interesting architecture or design features (such as a tipi, train car, repurposed building or theme rooms) that set it apart from other accommodations.
Winter Wonderland
Activities that promote winter activities in Idyllic winter settings. Activities considered to be Winter Wonderland excites admiration or wonder around the magic of Winter. Activities include Ice Skating, Winter Hiking, Winter Festivals and more.
Wildlife Viewing
Viewing Wildlife in their natural surroundings not within a zoo environment. Wildlife sanctuaries are the exception if the area is native to the species being viewed.
