The sort order of listings on TravelAlberta.com is based solely on the quality rating (number of bubbles) and does not take into account the number of reviews or recency of the reviews. As such, listings are ranked by number of bubble (5 being the highest) and will appear randomly based on their ranking (all listings with 5 will appear at the top of the list and randomized from there). At the time of development, Trip Advisor did not offer the Popularity Ranking algorithm for third party vendors, which takes into account the recency and quantity of the reviews for sort purposes. Travel Alberta will be assessing the work involved in adding this to our site ranking and adding to the development queue based on priority.
The exception to this is that all items appearing on the homepage of travelalberta.com or on a things to do or places to go landing page are fully randomized.
