LISTING CHECKLIST

  • CHECK FOR DUPLICATE LISTINGS; if you find a duplicate follow duplicate procedure
  • Review any notes on the file for pertinent information. 
  • Check if item is a Data Provider - if item belongs to a data provider, follow the data approval procedure.
  • Check for translations and follow Translation Workflow
  • Category and Type: Check that the Listing is categorized correctly
  • Category and Type: Do not review listings under the Tourism Marketing Partner category. Flag them for ATIS Specialist.
  • Title: If the business has multiple Listings in multiple categories, ensure that the title is unique to the Listing.
  • Location: When an address is not readily available, use Google Maps to identify Latitude and Longitude (decimals, not degrees). Ensure a location description is entered (proximity to nearest town or intersection i.e. 20km northwest of Edmonton, off Hwy 123 or 1 km west of Range Road 222 and Hwy 123). No P.O. boxes are permitted.
  • Check Web address - is the URL pointing to the most appropriate page for that listing.
  • Check for a TripAdvisor page and for any social links that the partner actively updates.
  • Description: Ensure that the description is unique to the Listing, not the overall business, and follows Description Best Practices (minor edits and updates).
  • Activity and Amenity Tags: Ensure the Listing is using the correct activity and amenity tags that pertain to that particular Listing/activity.
  • Images should be sourced whenever possible from the partner's website and appropriate credit must be given, if necessary. Another useful resource is Travel Alberta's Multimedia Library (MML). Images from social media sites are to be avoided unless the business owns the rights to the image. Similarly, images from Google should be avoided unless steps are taken to verify the ownership of the images. Images should follow Image Best Practices ,wherever possible.
  • Check market guidelines to determine which markets the content should be approved in (all content is approved for US and Canada)
  • Check the Partner's website. Does the partner have additional content that would be applicable for ATIS (use judgement)? If so, reach out to the partner. 


EVENT CHECKLIST

  • CHECK FOR DUPLICATE EVENTS
  • Review any notes on the file for pertinent information. 
  • Check for translations and follow Translation Workflow
  • Category: Select up to three relevant categories.
  • Website: Ensure that event details are readily available on the partner's website.
  • Associated Listings: Check that a listing has been associated (where applicable)
  • Location: Ensure that the pin is in the correct general area
  • Location: For partners that have only a P.O. box address, be sure to include a location description under the Lat/Long field.
  • Description: Ensure that the event description follows Description Best Practices
  • Activity Tags: Ensure the Event is using the correct activity and amenity tags.
  • Event Dates: Check that the event dates are correct. If applicable, up to ten sets of start/end dates may be entered.
  • Ensure that annual events have been marked as such.
  • Images should be sourced whenever possible from the partner's website and appropriate credit must be given, if necessary. Another useful resource is Travel Alberta's Multimedia Library (MML).
