When looking for images to populate an ATIS product or event listings, the following steps should be followed.

Steps for sourcing photos when creating an ATIS listing on behalf of a third party.

  1. Checking the Travel Alberta MML for existing images of the product/experience.
  2. If applicable, check our DMO partners’ media libraries for existing images of the product/experience.
    1. Explore Edmonton
    2. Tourism Calgary
    3. Banff Lake Louise Tourism
    4. Tourism Jasper
    5. Tourism Canmore Kananaskis
    6. Indigenous Tourism Alberta
  3. Reaching out to the operator for images of the product/experience.
  4. If all else fails, sourcing images from websites/social media is a last resort.
    1. In these instances, please flag this with the Studio <studio@travelalbeta.com> so we can add to our ATIS gap list for consideration to send out a creator.

If an image is accidentally added to ATIS without the consent of the photographer, the following response can be send along with immediate removal of the photo.

We appreciate you reaching out and bringing this to our attention. It’s always important to us to recognize the work of talented contributors like yourself.

The image in question was sourced from OPERATOR NAME's official website (or Facebook page), and based on its public availability there, it was included in our event listing. That said, we absolutely understand and respect the importance of proper credit and image rights.

Although the photo credit exists in our internal system, credits are not currently visible on the public-facing site due to a technical limitation. Our team is working on a broader project to resolve this and allow for proper attribution across all published content.

Out of respect for your work, we’ve removed the image from the listing until we can ensure it is properly credited. We appreciate your understanding and would love the opportunity to showcase your work again once the appropriate systems are in place.
